Save Our Silver Spring Schools (SOSSS) is a community‑based, grassroots advocacy organization dedicated to protecting walkable, diverse, transit‑connected schools in downtown Silver Spring—and to strengthening MCPS’s countywide planning processes.
We believe:
- Walkable schools are essential community infrastructure
- School decisions must be transparent and data‑driven
- Families deserve meaningful engagement under Board Policy ABA on Community Engagement
- MCPS must align school planning with countywide long‑range plans
- Strong schools build strong communities and best serve students and their education and well-being
Founded by parents, educators, and neighbors, SOSSS works to ensure that MCPS’s decisions support students, equity, sustainability, and community cohesion.
